Practiced by Hindus and Buddhists alike, the Gayatri is a meditation on spiritual light.  In all the teachings and scriptures, Gayatri is called supreme in bestowing enlightenment. For pure spiritual potency in the accumulating of the highest spiritual light, there is nothing to compare with the Gayatri mantra.

While other mantras are great for their purpose, this one is specifically for the purpose of enlightening the intellect. The Gayatri mantra, therefore, brings luster to the aura and promotes the accumulation of spiritual light at the cellular level. This quality alone makes it a powerful healing mantra. 

With protracted use, the Gayatri also builds a cumulative quality of protection referred to as "spiritual armor."

Thomas Ashley-Farrand was initiated into the long form of the Gayatri mantra thirty years ago by the late Sadguru Sant Keshavadas. Since then, Thomas has practiced this mantra daily and intensely, having completed lengthy traditional Gayatri sadhanas as well as making it the foundation of his ongoing spiritual practice.
